The Second Session Of China BIM Good Data Competition Series Report(I) Preparation of The Competiton

<China BIM Good Data Competition> aims to achieve BIM mathematical method based CDM standards will have same result compare with BIM graphic method based IFC Standards.
CDM standards has made the foundation for achieving BIM Technology with China’s own Intellectual Property (IP).
The original purpose of CDM database is to provide data service for all software rather than just for BIM software.
The Final competition of the First Session <China BIM Good Data> creative competition is hosted by the National Building Information Model (BIM) Industrial Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance (China BIM Union), hosted by Hangzhou PingMing Security Control Information Technology Co., Ltd., and co-sponsored by Beijing LiQun Architectural Science Research Institute, Jiangsu Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Nanjing Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. The competition was successfully completed in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province on October 13-18 in the year of 2019. The topic of the First Session creative competition is based on prefabricated structural components, with participants of 100 members from 10 teams. Meanwhile, the advanced seminar " System of China BIM Technology and Practical Application" was held, and all the students have successfully completed their studies.
The Second Session of <China BIM Good Data> is hosted by China BIM Union, organized by Shenzhen Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., which is the Union’s observer and the First Session’s champion. The competition topic is based on "cast-in-place concrete structure", the context is including the preparation of cast-in-place concrete structure CDM standard and the development of CDM application software. In this session, the competition is registered only via each company. Before the final competition, full preparation, guidance and online learning are taken place; meanwhile, the scale and scope of the competition team are expanded, and more enterprises and institutions in the industry are invited to participate in the competition by allowing to use more BIM, QS and other relevant software/hardware platforms.
Since November 1st of the year 2019, the Second Session of <China BIM Good Data> has started the registration process, and nine learning groups have been selected through qualification check, preparation guidance, national unified online entrance examination, preliminary team competition, qualified admission and other forms; on March 10th of the year 2020, <The 10th of China BIM Advanced Seminar Admission List> was released; from February 6th to March 16th, all learning group members have completed totally 24 "CDM Technology Series Courses" via online classroom and have completed the practical exercises.
On April 3, <the Notice on Recruiting Teams for the Second Session of "China BIM Good Data"> was released, and there were four companies applying for the competition. Nine study groups and four companies did competition of the two-stage tasks with time limitation of eight hours. Second stage tasks can be processed only after the first stage tasks have been completed and submitted. Civil Aviation Airport Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., had completed and had successfully submitted two stage tasks within the required time, which won the qualification to participate in the competition and became the 10th team of the final competition. On April 20th, <the Notice on Inviting to Participate in "China BIM Good Data" Creative Competition and Recruiting Judges> was released, and the teams of BIM software, QS software and other management software were invited through open recruitment among national enterprises and through tasks exercises. Through two stages of practical exercises, there are totally 5 teams won the qualification to participate in the competition.
To guarantee the justice, fairness and openness of the final competition, the Second Session of <China BIM Good Data> has organized judge panel via invitation and recruitment. Each judge is qualified as senior professional titles or above, as well as qualified as the level-1 registered cost engineer / constructor (Civil Engineering); < Rules for Judge Panel of Second Session "China BIM Good Data" Creative Competition> and specifications of marking process have been formulated. The outcome documents submitted by each team will be quantitatively marked and be integrated ranked by entire judge panel; the marking system is standardized in quantified way to avoid the any subjective.
According to the competition regulations of this session, 9 study groups will adopt CDM standards and software to compete with 6 teams which are allowed to use any BIM, QS and other relevant software/technologies in the same task within the same project, and compare those existing software from the perspective view of practical application.
