Special Issue "Emerging Development and Applications of Extended Reality Technology for Intelligent Construction Engineering and Management"
Dear Colleagues,
In this new era, the development of extended reality technologies (e.g., VR, AR, and MR) has endowed them with significant value in various fields and industries, such as military, medicine, and manufacturing. Moreover, the enormous potential advantages in the field of architecture, such as integration with building information modeling (BIM), optimization of human-computer interaction, and fusion applications like architectural data visualization analysis, will greatly contribute to the digital development of the construction industry.
This special issue aims to collect high-quality manuscripts on the latest advancements in extended reality technologies for safe and efficient construction management.
Topics may include but are not limited to the following:
Virtual reality (VR)
Augmented reality (AR)
Mixed reality (MR)
Fusion application of extended reality and sensor data
Architectural metaverse
Digital twin

Research articles, review, and project case are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to JIC Editorial Office in advance.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts on the Submission Guidelines page. Journal of Intelligent Construction is a peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by Tsinghua University Press. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English.
Manuscripts should be submitted online at https://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/jic (At the same time, please send the article to wangyao@cabrtech.com). Research articles, Review, and Project Case are invited. The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2024, and the work will be published as soon as it is accepted.
